I just read about a new service from paypal that would reduce fees for anyone who accepts a large number payments under
    $12. Instead of the standards 2.9% + 0.30, the fee would be 5% + 0.05.

    Example $5.00 payment
    OLD Fee: 0.45
    NEW fee: 0.30

If you do a lot of under $12.00 transactions that could really add up. You can use this new fee structure in the US, and some other countries listed on this page:

No not ground breaking, but I get a lot of small payments. I want to keep every penny I can. Paypal gets too much of my money. I just thought I would share with anyone else you might be interested.

Other than the need to maintain a new Paypal account sounding like more of a hassle than it should be, this sounds like good news.

I remember a Microsoft commercial years ago where an Administrator told the boss that switching to some Microsoft product was going to save the company $0.05 on every transaction they do. The bosses eyes lit up as he said "A nickel ? We do over 5 million transactions a day.".

5 cents is 5 cents. Whether it seems like a lot or not, it's saving money and that's what matters. :)

    Thanks. +rep
