Hi all! A while ago, I started buying and selling on Ebay, since I got a credit card. I was either buying for me or buying stuff to sell 'locally' and I had quite some sellings on Ebay, because I was running short of money and I sold everything I could. It went on ok for a while, but recently, I got into a complicated situation with a buyer, so complicated that it left me with a big negative paypal balance, because the guy opened a case against me which I lost and I had no money left in my Paypal account. Apparently, a tracking number is not enough. I got a new credit card, I opened a new account, had to confirm address with an utility bill. Fine, I uploaded one and in the meantime I started buying again from Ebay. But unfortunately, they linked the account with the one that has pending issues, so it's still limited and I can't afford to resolve the balance on the other one. Practically my hands are tied and I can't pay the sellers from which I bought and I really need those items. I can't convince them anymore to wait for me, they are threatening me with cases and such. I tried unsuccessfully to find people to pay for me and to whom I could send money via bank transfer or such; I'm afraid there are no volunteers so far, since the sum is quite big, around 200 $. Trying to come up with the best solution in order to pay the sellers (there are 7), I thought of some alternatives and I would like you to give me your opinion, please. 1) Create several personal accounts without linking any credit cards, sell on Ebay, receive money in the paypal account, then send money to the seller - although it could take a while, supposing the items won't sell immediately 2) Hope that someone will have mercy on my soul and will offer to make the payments, although the bank transfer fees would kill me, so probably the best way to send money would be something like Western Union 3) Create a stealth Paypal account Also, a question. How can I create a new account without being linked to other accounts? Do I have to use a VPN, hide my IP or simply put different name/address than the ones from the accounts with outstanding issues? Thank you! Alexa
Oh wow! First off just pay off the negative balance on the original account. That is by far your best bet. Paypal records your IP and only allows one personal account and one business account. It is against their terms and conditions to do otherwise. Second how did you lose the case? Was it services or goods? If you sent something physical to the buyer then you should not have lost that case if you: a) had the tracking number b) the package was signed for. If the package was not signed for then its really a flip of the coin. If it was for services i.e. Building a adwords campaign you will almost always lose because proving this service was delivered becomes very hard. If you are going to do service for people you don't know or trust have them sign a contract saying the services were delivered or try different methods of payment. Your situation really blows but don't make it worse by creating more paypal accounts. Its best to settle up the issue with your original one. Hope that helped.
it might be against their TOS to have more than one account, but that doesn't mean it's illegal (it's not) and it's certainly possible
