Paypal limited my account. Need to call Paypal.

    Paypal limited my account on April 10th. I completed all the tasks mentioned in the resolution center. It says I've completed all the tasks too. But my account is still limited.

    I sent emails to Paypal, but never got anything back other than the automated replies. It's been over a week and a half since I completed all the tasks, but my account is still limited.

    I need to call PayPal and talk to them about this now. I have their toll-free number, but I'm not a US resident. I stay in India.

    Can anyone confirm if I can still use the toll-free number to call PayPal from India and not get charged (telephone bill) ? Or, if toll-free numbers work worldwide, in general.

    Quick help appreciated.

    If you call them using IDD then it would most likely be charged even if it is a US toll-free number. However, if you have Skype or one of those budget call service, you can reduce your cost.

    Kindly use skype for making international calls from the pc. Being in India I often used skype for calling someone at the US also take creadit of appox 10$, it last for long in the skype.

    Its much cheaper to call the us from skype. :)

    I just bought some Skype credit and called Paypal.

    I spoke to a lady who checked my account status and said that even though I have completed all the tasks listed in the Resolution Center, it may take a "bit" longer for an Account Review Specialist to lift the limit from my account.

    I asked her how long is "bit" long, because I've been waiting since over a week and nothing's been done. She said that she can't give me an exact date, but it will be resolved "soon".

    This sucks big time. I desperately need that money right now, and Paypal screwed my account for no reasonable reason. I completed all the steps, but they are still unable to restore normal account access. Darn!

    If anyone can suggest me anything I could do to get the limit lifted (or get the funds out of my account), I would be very grateful to them!

    Its excellent better than normal telephones. Also make sure you use a good accent while talking to them.

    The representative that comes online, make sure you tell her I have a "Indian paypal account"... make sure you repeat the line 2-3times to her, coz often they have to transfer your call to the international department.

    did she review your account? did she give you exact date?

    make sure you call them again after 2 days. ;)

    It is good indeed. I didn't waste my money :).

    I didn't really mention that separately. But when she asked me to tell her my address, I told her the entire address, including "India". I think that would be enough, right?

    She did check whether I've completed the tasks. It was after that that she told me it might take a "bit longer" to restore normal access. I asked her when I can expect it to be done by, and she said she cannot give me a date as she is not the one in-charge of reviewing my account.

    Like you suggested, I'll call them after 2 days. After that, I'll keep calling them everyday until they get it done! :D

    Its around $0.021 ($ 0.024 incl. VAT)/per minute + some call connection charge of $0.039 ($0.045 incl. VAT)... someone correct me if I am wrong. ;)

    Unauthorized transaction dispute. My account was hacked (through a spyware) and a payment was made from my account. I filed an unauthorized transaction dispute. They gave me back my money after review, but limited my account. I was asked to change my password, security questions, and get my computer scanned for viruses before they lifted the limit from my account.


    Anyway, my account access was restored :). The second time I called them, a guy picked up, and reviewed my account. He asked me whether I got my computer checked for infections. I said yes, and he restored normal access to my account :).

    I had my accont limited because it did too much!!

    I warned them that this could happen.....made no difference. It took me 4 1/2 hours on the phone and 20 pages of faxes!!

    THREE Lessons Learn't

    ONE
    If you can - don't just have paypal.

    TWO
    I put money from my business account to another personal paypal account......they don't like it. Rather put it into a bank account.

    THREE
    If UK (and I think European Based) so called security dictates that anyone doing mroe than £4,500 in business, must be invetigated and paypals way of investigating you is....limit your account.

    Be warned......what they say and what you get by email are two very different things.

    Finally......with any dispute if you can get a fax number you'll have you prroblem solved soon......send a fax and warn if you haven't had a response within (whatever time limit you stipulate) you'll be back. If no response in the time specified simply send the original fax with another cover sheeet. It's important to respond in the time limites stipulated or they wont take you seriorusly.

    If still no response send the original letter, the second cover sheet and a NEW cover sheet. Repeat process until you have a response. The longest fax has been 9 pages so far.....but ALWAYS a response.

    Paypla are great.......when they are working....and Oh by the way for the twenty days I was limited they kept TAKING money of course, just wouldn't give it to me!!

    as long as you have a fairly decent and up to date computer the quality is great from my experiance. i was using it for free until ebay decided to make a fee for it.
