Hi.. My account was limited, and now paypal requiring me to add SSN and do credit check in order i remove the limit. Is that common? i have over 5k stuck in account and been having rapid sales on ebay.. Is it safe to provide them such info,or is it for verification purpose? and what is credit check anyway..
But why would they ask such info? bank and credit already been verified . Is there any work around this problem,i dont think giving out ssn is an options , they are not even a bank!
Why don't you call paypal customer service. As you are from USA, they can personally verify you by calling your phone number...
i wish it works that way, they already did call me and asked me to insert the ssn and do a credit check which i finally did to remove the limit,i tried numerous times to find an alternative on phone but bottom line, they said they could no way remove the limitation until i provide such info.
You can provide the info if necessary. Really...I have called PP before and gotten past it w/o SSN ID because I said I was VERY VERY FEARFUL of sending that info and asked if I could verify everything "another way". It works if you are nice w/ the people, they are leniant there if you sweet talk them (on some things).
Also, if they do not release the money, GO TO THE STICKY THREAD here in the Paypal forums and read it, you can send that letter stating a lawsuit may be at hand. They usually release it then!
