Paypal is Now Charging 4.2% Even for PERSONAL Payments.. Is there anyway to get Rid if the Fees ? ? I need Help. Or is it TIME to shift to MONEYBOOKERS!! ? ?
Yup..You can chick this thread http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1368726 As far as I know, sending the money as "gift" so paypal wont charge fees...
PP sucks I wish everyone would move to alternatives. If the money is sent personal gift then the sender pays the fees.
pp charge fee for even gifts or any other personal payments, but its a flat fee $1 per $100. I m now shifting to MB. Paypal used to suck before but now they are robbing us of our hard earned money.
Well thats even worse! I agree, Paypal were outragious with fee's but now they have just gone to far. Its a micky take. But only problem with moving to moneybookers or alertpay etc is that not all people accept mb / ap , for example if you want to buy something and they only accept PP , your stuffed. But the point, Paypal are just robbing us blind now
4.2% isn't their last step ( it's not a fact, tough, I'm pretty sure they will rise it anyway ) and yes, it would be better to move to other payment processors, however, it's not that easy ( as there are a bunch of people who will never switch ).
Read the fee information: https://www.paypal.com/ph/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/gen/ua/policy_fees-outside If the sender marks the payment as a "gift" AND it's funded by a PayPal balance AND it's from the same country as the recipient, there is no fee. If it's funded by credit card or debit card, the sender can decide who pays the fee (3.4% + a fixed amount). There is an additional fee if currency conversion is required (i.e., from a different country). For business transactions, the recipient pays the fee (domestic is 3.4%+fixed fee, cross-border is 3.9%+fixed fee). I have no idea where the 4.2% number came from - it's not one of the possibilities on the fee link above.
maybe they changed the fee again?? till yesterday I was getting charged $1 for every $100 for personal payments (gifts, money owed etc)
If the fee structure continue to rise the way it has, I am sure the switch would be automatic for most of the people. The water level can be risen only till certain level after which it surely begins to flow to other areas! If paypal does not mend its ways, we would surely see other processors gaining wider acceptability! Regards, RightMan
Nope,Just click this link https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_display-receiving-fees-outside&countries= received $0.00 USD - $3,000.00 USD fees 2.9% + $0.30 USD 100$*2.9% + $0.30 USD =3.2$ Just $1 for every $100?Where are u from?
Plus some of us that do intangible sales got a notification that by the end of this month Paypal will be holding back 10% of the total we have earned for months. Thing that is scary is the example they gave in the letter actually worked out to 20%.
It will not be happen too soon coz many thing needed to be done such as adding shopping cart with external payment processor.
@ Nonny I read the FEE information and The Fee for Non-Domestic use is 3.9% +0.3$ thats wat I told as 4.2% (Eventhough its not 4.2%)... Anyway till 100$ transaction its like 4.2% only.. They are charging 4.2$ for 100$.. if a buyer sends 100$ we will receive 95.8$ only..
I see, under those circumstances it's effectively 4.2% on 100$. Of course it's effectively 6.9% on $10 (0.69), but only 3.93% on $1000. You'll just have to factor that in to your cost of doing business - and since it's higher for cross-border transactions, you might have to include a "foreigner fee" to recoup that.
PayPal + eBay is a total scam when it comes to sellers. Lets take a $20 Item $2.98 is lost to final value fee (8.75% WTF), insertion fee (0.35), paypal receiving fee ($0.30 + 2.9%) so there you go. just by selling a $20 item with ebay and paypal, you lose 15%. Buyers should honestly pay SOME portion of the fees, considering they are the most protected in the end. Boycott PayPal + eBay, I've closed my accounts and even though it is a bit of a detriment to purchasing goods on eBay, most merchants are more than happy to take a direct credit or debit card payment and offer a discount on the item. It is great
One of the (many, many) reasons I detest PayPal is that the fees are so damn hard to figure out. What kind of a messed up company doesn't have an easily understandable fee structure? They even left it to third parties to come up with a calculator for determining the fees. PayPal sucks in so many ways. I still use them, though, because everything else is even worse.
