Very annoyed at PayPal, they are great for buyer protection but rubbish at protecting sellers! They ALWAYS favour the buyer... Do they even bother reading the dispute notes? I am very annoyed that on numerous occasions I have carried out work for people and received payments via PayPal, then at a later date the users have opened a dispute saying it was "suspicious account activity" and that they never authorised the transaction and end up with both a website & the money!! Plus whats even more annoying is the moment the buyer opens a dispute they pull the money straight out your account.. What happened to innocent until proven guilty!? Disappointed.
except when you buy a service - they seem not cover intangibles at all. But that applies to "not as described" cases. I don't understand though in case of "suspicious account activity" (i.e. hacked account) - why should paypal "fix" buyer account problem at an expense of seller account. Or are they implying, you hacked your customer's account to pay to yourself?
Unfortunately the buyer ran it through as a gift, which I didn't see as a problem at the time. Exactly, I don't either... Well I guess they have to assume all posibilites, but I have e-mails about the work from the same e-mail that was used to process payments so hopefully if PayPal allow me to show them the proof then I should win the case, otherwise it's going to be a costly month for me!
