Paypal: India: Latest Status : For new account and funds transfer

Hi,

Have been watching the paypal issues with India account holders due to RBI guidelines.

Wanted to know:

a) New Account: For new account, has PAN made mandatory information.

(Read in forums earlier, that pan information can be skipped for existing members
by clicking on paypal logo. Is this still the case even for existing members?)

b) Unverified Account: What vendors accept unverified account payments.
Specifically:

I'm looking to purchase hosting off the web hosting section in DP.

Also, what domain name reseller/vendors accept unverified for domain name
purchase.

c) Verification of account: What's the latest on account verification process.
I need to verify my account to receive payments which will exceed the
limit for non verified accounts.

1. Is the bank account verification working. If i use ICICI bank account details,
will paypal deposit amounts in bank account or has this been stopped.

2. Debit Card: Again some postings mentioned one can verify using debit
cards, some say can't. Whats the latest

3. VCC: Is HDFC NetSafe still working.

4. Credit Cards: Are indian credit cards working for verification. Reason asking
is there is second level of protection now Verified by Visa etc .

Is the Withdrawal Limit lifted after you verify the PayPal account with a Bank Account?

If not, what's the max amount you can withdraw in a single month?

Name.com, Domainsite Namecheap are some registrars which dont need verified cc

 

for existing users, PAN can be skipped, but i am not sure whether they can withdraw money. and for new users, PAN is necessary. one can easily obtain a PAN within a month. just ask your bank.

 

You can send or receive payment only upto 500$.

 

You mean there is still limit after verifying with bank account , then whats the use of verifying.

 

The problem with HDFC Netsafe is that verification is still not possible. You can use Netsafe generated cards for many things but when things come down to verification, you cant do that as the required transaction code does not get reflected in the account

 

I think you need a pan card to open a paypal account in India {due to rbi norms } . If you think getting a pan card is hectic then you must think again because i got my pan card in just about 12 days so no need to worry about pan card .
Paypal account verification is really easy you just need a bank account . I have an account with hdfc and have verfied my paypal account with that . Its really easy and simple .

 

I recently have verified my PP account with HDFC bank account.
Q1. Do I need add money to my PP account for online shopping?
If yes, upon trying to add funds to PP account The ADD FUNDS TAB says “PayPal does not currently offer the ability to add funds from your bank account.”


Q2. Now does it make compulsory to add credit card to PP (which I don’t have) to add money (for online shopping)? OR I can shop without funds being added to my PP account and PP will itself debit it from my bank account.

If Yes, How paypal can debit the amount directly from anyone’s bank account, obviously Bank will not let anyone to online deduct money from any account especially without knowing login ID & password.
