I've sold many things through eBay and I've often used PayPal to receive the funds. Recently I sold an item and received the funds into my PayPal account only to find that my money was 'pending' Apparently it's a new security measure where PayPal hold onto the funds for up to 21 days to see if any problems arise. I Completely understand the reasoning for this but think it's also unfair that we now have to wait up to 21 days to receive a payment. Has anybody else had a similar experience?
It's not a "security feature" as you claim it to be. The payment is pending because the buyer sent you the money using there bank account or echeque to fund the payment. Don't send the goods or services until that payment clears because the buyer can cancel it at any time during the pending period. Regards, HA
I've actually already sent the item I'll have to keep an eye out. The person did have good feedback though..
The above advise is wrong. If you are a new seller or have a few issues with PP, they will place a 21 day hold, This will then get released if feed back is left or after 21days. If you account is in good order after 90 days the PP are likely to lift the 21day hold. You do need to send the item or you are likely to get a complaint. If you do sell low value or low risk item, you might not have the 21 day hold placed on your account.
