As far as I am aware, you need a working CC to maintain the verified status of your paypal account. If the expiration of your CC comes to the knowledge of paypal, it would revert back your account to unverified status! :(

yea.. the account is verified and hence it wont change until you change your info again. but some sites like godaddy insist that you have an verified active account !!!.

It will remain verified even if you remove the credit card from your account.
Still some sites may require you to have a credit card on your account.

what happens once the card's expiry date passes?

does Paypal check with the bank if the card has been renewed?

You can just remove it from your account.
I don't think they will check with your bank to see if the CC expired.

If you have no other credit card on file and you do not have a verified Checking account your spending limit will become zero (and I believe all your other limits will be limited as well).

I concur to the people who say you will no longer be verified. You do not lose any limits, and or verified status. For my PayPal a year ago, the credit card on file expired, and 2 months later I updated my info [for new address] with the expired card, and they didn't adjust any of my limits.

Nowadays, I have 3 credit cards on file to ensure nothing lost. Because I did receive some emails from PayPal saying they are going to unverify my account (which never happened.)

You can remove that card and your account will remain verified.

DO NOT DO THIS if you do not have another card on their file. Two different things are being discussed here.

If your CC expires and you keep it there you are still good to go. HOWEVER if you Remove the card and have neither another card nor a checking account on file with them you WILL be limited.

this happened to me less than a week ago and I had to add an account back to lift the limits.

I agree with you. I had bad experience. I removed my CC and when my CC expires, paypal revert it to unverified and later paypal limited my account.

Don't do this. Just leave it there. You can still use the card unless you have another card to verify your paypal. I did remove it once but a few days later I replaced it with the new CC and there was no problem.

sometimes paypal verifies if the card you used is still existing... if not you need to send them papers to verify your ownership of that account so i suggest not to remove that card.
