Hi fellow DP members, Can anybody share the paypal currency conversion transaction fee? According to paypal website: Exchange rate includes a 2.5% fee How do they calculate the conversion? Let's say my credit card is in usd and I'm paying another guy in euro. If the current global conversion rate is 1.440 usd per 1 euro, does that means I will pay for the exchange rate of 1.476 (1.440 +2.5%)? That means I have to pay 1.476 usd to get 1 euro. Kinda of confusing but anyone who understands this maybe can give your opinion whether this is correct. If the way they charge like this, I might as well use bank wire transfer which is cheaper since they only charge a one time wire transfer fee. Thanks
i transfered some high amount of yen into euro once, paypal charged a very bad exchange rate. lost a lot. maybe wire is better!
