How come they froze the funds? Was the buyer paying with a stolen credit card perhaps? Surely there is another side to this story.

Thats what I wanted to know. I talked to them on the phone and they was like

Rep: Oh you have to wait 180 days for you to use your account
Me: What? Why do I have to wait that long?
Rep: Because of security reasons and to stop you from having charges drawbacks and to protect your identity
Me: Okk, but I still don't understand why the claim was on the $4000 the buyer paid me
Rep: Well sir, thanks for calling Paypal, if you have any more questions, please give us a call back

    BULLSHIT!

I am surprised they chose to limit your account straightaway and not given you any remedial steps to be undertaken to lift this limitation! Such extreme action is generally seen with accounts having the traces of illegal activity! :(

Sounds like you fell for a scam. Your 'partner' needed you to sell something on eBay because they already had their account suspended so you thought you would make a quick buck selling this product. What did you sell for $4000 and why are customers angry at you? Did you not ship what was bought. It sounds very fishy and PayPal probably thought the same thing which is why your account is under review freezing the funds so if buyers file chargebacks the money will be there.

The FTC will not respond to your plea. They want facts none of which you provided.

The best thing you could do is to call them up and ask what they need from you in order to release the money and resolve the limitation.

Better contact Paypal customer support to resolve this issue.

BTW, what did you sell on eBay that was worth $4000?

I already submitted atleast 5 documents tp Paypal and yet my account was still limited. My partner is doing no wrong because I listed the items before and no problem and they was in the high $500, I just get 25% of total sales to list the item.

We sold 12 x iPhones in a bulk, whole sale lot kinda deal, but I'm guessing the buyer paid with a stolen credit card or something, I don't know. But I don't think its right that MY account have to be put on hold instead of his.

If you received money from a stolen credit card, you are in fact part in a form of money laundering. A crime which is illegal around the world, especially in the US after 9/11.

If you received $4000 from a credit card whose owner did not approve the charge, Paypal will need to reverse the transaction and pay the victim his money back. As a seller, you agree to take this risk and accept any and all costs, including possibly losing your shipped item, when doing business. It's all very clearly written in the Paypal user agreement, which, I admit, is rather lengthy and illiterate people will never read them. Nonetheless they make up your relationship with Paypal and regulates what you can and can't do. Anything outside of that, and you run the risk of either losing your account or have it locked. If you don't agree with above said, you should not have signed up or used Paypal as your processor at all, feel free to find and use another payment processor.

Why isnt the guy selling the iphones himself? Are they stolen?

Why are customers angry? Do the phone snot work? Are you shipping them?

    So many red flags here!

Bottom line you wanted to make a buck by taking part in some type of scam and you got caught regardless if you knew or believed it was a scam or not.

no, you're wrong. The person who is my partner is the supplier of the items, he posted a thread in partnership section on DP in look for a eBay lister.
No, they aren't stolen. Customers are angry because he can't ship the items out until he receive the payments and the customers would be mad to have to wait.

Yes, the phones work. No, I'm not shipping them, he is.

It's not a scam, its more like dropshipping to me

if you get the invoices for the phones to show they are legit and can prove to paypal they are in your/ your partners possession then they would relook at it , I had a similar situation last year with 10 PS3's. Once we proved we had them and they were shipped the funds were released. Obviously they will not release the funds until the buyer has the goods

Don't be frustrated about the things. You have to use correct words while opening the thread. You should not use some words like f*** Call PayPal customer support and ask for solution. Tell everything genuinely. You will find solution for your problem.
