thier fees are fairly reasonable when you consider the following: -they are a business that needs to make a profit -compared with credit card merchant accounts, they are comparable, sometime better priced
Yup, definitely fair. It's cheaper than the other payment processors I use and it seems to bring in more sales when I added Paypal as an option. Put it this way, if without Paypal, would you be able to bring in that much sales ? If not then there is the benefit already and that would outweigh the cost. If you do not want to pay the charges then get a Paypal personal account which is free for paypal to paypal transfers.
Although there is no real way you can avoid paying PayPal fees, one thing you can do is plan ahead for them. And what I mean by that is simply increasing the price of your item ever so slightly so that after PayPal fees are removed you can get the amount you want. I've written a little calculator/script that can do the math for you and figure out that "special" amount to charge. I call it a Reverse PayPal Calculator. I also have an eBay Fee Calculator that can do the same thing but for eBay fees.
Well done I am supprised someone hasn't thought about that sooner. That is a really great idea you have there I am sure you will get lots of traffic to those sites
as a SELLER you will ALWAYS win a dispute from virtual goods. creditcard chargebacks are in 99% of cases always lost in virtual goods
