I have several paid directories and using a personal account to get payment for including links. In the past, Paypal does not charge ma anything when I got payment. But now each transaction I got paid they would charge me a fixed ammount of fee. That counts for 10 to 15% (huge)

I just wonder if anyone enocounter the same problem or is it because they changed the policy.

    Waiting for you reply. Thanks!

I'm not sure if we have same computation for fee. As for me, 3.9% of your earnings plus $0.30, that would be the computation for my fee per transaction.

It might be because your account changed from "Personal" to "Premier" type. Check that in your PayPal after you login.

If it says Account Type : Premier then its going to charge to the fees everytime for receiving money as chris said above.

That sounds about right. If you do enough business, you may want to consider a merchant account. You'll need a business plan and a fairly good chunk of money up ahead but you'll get a lower rate. I think mine is 1.9% plus 25 cents per transaction.

Yeah, you'll need to upgrade your account to help lower the fees. I had to do this once I started receiving lots of payments.

Actually I meant a merchant account as in an actual credit card merchant account. Not a paypal one. Via a actual bank. (ie Bank of America) Paypal's policies leaves your money at their hands and they're known for being less than professional.

It is because paypal now charge fees for personal accounts as well. They are considering these payments as the commercial transactions.
