Hi all, anyone here being able to conduct business successfully selling to US customers, while having a non USA based PayPal account? I've been getting a lot of 10606 errors, resulting in abandoned carts. My Shopify store is set up to focus on USA customers. The 10606 error's meaning according to PayPal is that the transaction is rejected at the buyer's end and to contact the buyer. Those buyers who did bother to respond stated that they managed to use their PayPal account on another site without issues. One buyer even completed the transaction with her credit card (on my site) since PayPal Express checkout declined the transaction. The last 4 abandoned checkouts were all caused due to this PayPal issue and in the past month I have had approximately 10 checkouts fail due to PayPal Express checkout rejecting transactions, which then turns up as an abandoned cart under my Shopify, and also sends a false signal to Facebook messing up my ad cycles. Shopify stated that I need to speak to PayPal. Previously PayPal stated everything is fine at my end and to ask the customers to call PayPal to check issues with their account. I don't believe the issue lies with the customers (for reasons stated above) and given multiple declines, this cannot be a coincidence. I've sent another email to PayPal; waiting for a response Needless to say this is killing my store as I cannot generate any traction with respect to ads/sales and scaling. Has anyone been through this and if so is there a fix? Thanks!
Sounds like PayPal has a problem with the transactions, but it could be something else. In order to minimise this, you have to put a double or triple layer protection (ex. verify credit card purchase)
