Dumb user question here. I've been using paypal for years to pay people. It's hooked into my bank account, I'm confirmed, all that stuff. Normally when I pay, if there's no money in paypal, it draws money from my bank account automatically and sends the money right over to the recipient - no waiting. The last two times I've paid someone (folks from here actually) using paypal they've gotten a darn echeck. And that means they have to wait days before they get the money. That's annoying for them and a bit damaging to my online rep where I always pay immediately. So what's changed? Me or paypal? And how do I go back to the old way where the money's not sent as an echeck?
while paying, you will see a drop down menu which'll give u options of payment select bank account instead of e-check does this solve your problem?
Actually, I just looked at this. It says 'echeck' and when I click on more funding options, it talks about instant transfer but doesn't actually give me the option for some reason - just an echeck. I'm still puzzled.
OK, I figured it out. Not that this was obvious. I had my bank account as the primary source, and a cc as the backup. My cc on file recently expired and I didn't update it on paypal. Without the backup of a cc, apparently one can't do instant transfer, only echeck. I added the cc back in as a backup funding and I've got instant transfer again. Thanks for the suggestions!
