What is the difference in paying with the normal paypal account and paying with a PayPal e-check? I meet this seller that want me to pay with an e-check, what is his advantages of that?

I hate this, because the e-check is cleared in 1 week, so you you have to wait to get funds.

Thanks, but can that e-check get money from the credit card or is it only getting money from the bank account?

eChecks are only funded from the senders bank account.

Hmm, I dont like the idea of that. Then I will never have the abillity to make a charge back to VISA if I am screwed by the seller.

VISA will take the appropriate actions if you are scammed. They take care of there customers. Also keep track of the transactions ie chat logs etc you can always send that to paypal

But if the money goes directly from the bank account to PayPal. How is VISA involved?

In the US, the buyer has three ways of funding a purchase, one which would be the existing paypal balance, the other would be through a credit card where the credit card company is involved and the third way is via e-check which means funding from a bank account.

Visa or any credit card company is not involved when the buyer pays via e-check. I am not sure if there is an explicit advantage to the buyer by using e-check but it is just another option of funding the account provided by Paypal. I supposed the buyer has funds in their bank account and do not want to use a credit card which may mean paying interests.

Basically, the policy is not to ship anything until the e-check is cleared.

With using an eCheck, fees don't exceed $5.00, so it would be a cost effective way to accept one if the fees would end up being more then the eCheck fees limit.

True that is why it is best to wait for the echecks to clear before you ship your goods and services. When someone issue an echeck, Paypal at that time would not have any access to the person's bank account and would not know if there is sufficient funds or even if the account has been closed. It is only after the request to the bank that those information are revealed. It probably takes time and thus why the longer waiting time to clear an echeck than a credit card purchase.
