Paypal: Do I need a special account to receive money?

    I have a regular account with papal but i have never used it to receive money. Do I need a merchant account at pay pal to receive money say if i sell a domain name here or some content?

    No. All kinds of paypal accounts have the ability to receive (and send) money.

    if you want to safe for your paypal account . you should register a merchant account .

    You can receive money in any type of paypal accounts.

    But the best one is Premier account as there won't be any limit in it. so that you can enjoy it totally. :)

    I agree with shinto_cooldude shinto cooldude, Paypal charges upto $1 for any transaction you do.

    You can recieve money on any type of paypal account.
    If you verify it via Credit Card then money send and recieve limit will increase from 500usd in personal account.
    But while trading online its better to use premier account.

    If you do not foresee using this Paypal account much, then you should better maintain your account to be 'PERSONAL'.

    It has limits on withdrawal as well as receiving CC funds, but then, you get to receive money, free of any transaction charges.... :rolleyes:

    If you want to receive payments to your paypal account and also want to withdraw the funds periodically, you should use premier or business account. Personal account can receive moeny but it is specifically designed to buy online. Hence, using personal account for receiving payments is not good.
