i have contacted paypal to recover my money from seller because he did not deliver domain to me i have read in this forum people saying that paypal can reconer money, in a dispute, but the latest reply from paypal was-- 'a digital or electronic product was not covered by paypal protection so we have returned money to seller' in other words-- bad luck it this correct?
Im afraid so. And yes,, they are a pack of bstrds you still have legal rights and consumer recourse if you want to go after the seller in court. Paypal only refund on real tangible products, not virtual products like domain names, web hosting, scripts etc. below is some other bizarre stuff they don't cover. taken from paypal.com https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/gen/terms-outside#consumer_protection //////////////////// Specific item exclusions. Items or situations which fit any of the following exclusions are not eligible for protection under the Guarantee: Items that have been damaged by the buyer Apparel items that have been worn or washed Media products such as DVDs, CDs, video and audio cassette tapes, video games and other software, etc.s Stored value cards (e.g. phone cards, gift cards, etc.) of any kind Hazardous materials, including but not limited to chemicals, explosives, flammables, poisons, and gases Firearms, explosives, or ammunition of any sort including but not limited to guns, rifles, and bombs Illegal/contraband goods Animals, plants, or any parts thereof Motorized vehicles of any kind, including but not limited to automobiles, motorcycles, boats, and airplanes Recalled products Consumables and perishables Land, buildings, structures, or real estate properties, lots or improvements Items weighing more than 70 pounds Items that, when packed, exceed 130 inches in combined length and girth (the combined length and girth is length plus twice the height plus twice the width) hope that helps Phillip
thanks for the reply. that list of exclusions from payapl is stupid. anyway it was only $45 i lost, suppose i learnt a good lesson--"buyer beware" '
Where'd you buy your domain from anyway? o.o If it's a legit and established site, there are usually protection policies on the site, so you can contact the website company that hosts the domain trades instead.
Yes its true - Paypal do not support virtual products anymore. Therefore, you need to transact carefully. Real Badluck...
i bought it here at digital point, from a seller that has done the same trick to me and another buyer at the same time, but different domains--'buyer beware'
If you paid directly out of your paypal funds, then you lost. If you paid via credit card, then you can call your credit card company. always use a credit card when buying for your best protection.
OK thanks to everyone who replied to my post. just now the seller has contacted me and will repay the money. thanks once again. post closed
