I'm a freelancer and one client has came and gave me an online task on Mid June. I've got the job through elance. But after completion of the job, buyer has paid me through paypal. Still he didnt paid me fully. Thatz different story. But after 3 months, now he has placed a dispute in PP that itz an 'Unauthorized Claim'. I've all the emails sent by him (he didnt used free email service, all the emails I've got is from his website's server). Any one guide me how can I proceed on this dispute case? If paypal found him guilty, is there any way we can file a case or something against him in order that he has made the false claim and also my money was held by paypal unnecessarily because of his false cliam?!
What kind of work do you do? Graphic, Coding? Is the client using your work? What does elance have to say about this, get them involved. Call paypal, stop sending them emails...Try to show as much proof as possible for Paypal claims. If need be hire a lawyer, and take the client to small claims court. If not, take elance, paypal to court....lol Next time make a contract to benefit yourself so you have legal document to show proof, and be quick with resolving. Im sure theirs a better answer for all this, but trying to help.
Thanks. Itz a data entry work. Client has paid me partial amount once I've sent him the finished work. I've all the emails from his server stated that hez fully satisfied with my work, etc., It was during late June. Couple of days back, I sent him an email reminding him about the balance payment and today his answer is thro' paypal's dispute.
Sorry to hear your experience. but the truth is these kind of frauds are commonplace in such payment gateways. In your case, what you can do is, you can send out an email to PayPal Support explaining your situation and mentioning all the details of the project that support your claim. PayPal will investigate the case and decide who is in the right and who is wrong. And if you have a strong evidence (conversation records, emails send by the client, details about the project history etc.) to back your case then be assured that the case will swing in your favor. Best Of Luck! Vinisha
I finished this task on June and asked him the balance amount in August last week. You know about elance. They charged me a huge amount as commission. So I've asked this client the amount he has agreed. That too I sent him reminder email after 3 months.
What I would recommend doing is calling PayPal and requesting to speak to a supervisor or PayPal claims specialist. They can add notes to the case and it will make them aware that user is creating false claims which can lead to the freezing of that party's account. Number: 1-888-221-1161
What are exactly the arguments this guy use to claim with paypal? You need to fyllu analize that and focus on that when contacting paypal. What does 'unauthorisez claim' exactly means?
Unauthorized Claim means that somebody is sending money from your account without your permission ! Anyway, PayPal is the worst company I've ever seen ! I creadet an account, added CC and sent documents .. Everything was ok, until I got a payment from my friend .. After 2 days PayPal locked my account due to some investigation regarding this transfer ! I sent them an email and explained everything, and my friend did the same - they are still keeping my account under lock ! I just don't understand their business - they are making money from newbies .. I would not suggest you to use it anymore !
I find this hard to believe considering paypal gives a maximum of 60-90 days to file a dispute, and since your claim is he did it after 3 months that is beyond the max 90 day limit. Either you are full of it, or are lying about part/all of this.
Why he needs to lie ? Another thing - the same thing for me, only time is different ! You want to say that I'm lying as well ?
Well, I didn't believe to a few things regarding PayPal, but now I'm sure THEY are scamming peoples ! Now my funds are locked due to some payment, and there's no way I could proof that I've sent what I sold !
