Hi, Uptil now I have been using PayPal only for withdrawing my freelancing money from the respective sites. (E.g. my clients would pay me via the site .. they would deposit payment to getafreelancer.com) but now my clients insist on paying directly via PayPal. The first payment that I received had some $2.75 charges levied on it !!! Can anybody tell why ? I have a Personal account. .. (BTW how do I insert an image here .. the pic is saved at location C:\ by name 11.jpeg)
PayPal is charging a fee for all business-related and credit card transactions, whether you have a personal account or not (2.9% + $0.30 USD for transactions up to $3000). https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_display-fees There are also fees for cross-border payments (for US accounts that's 3.9% + $0.30 USD). That sounds like the pic is on your computer's hard drive. You need to put in on the internet. You can use a site like ImageShack.us to host your images, then link to them here.
R U FREAKING KIDDING ME??? Come on. You do realize that Paypal makes its money just like any other merchant. They make money off you. They get a piece of every transaction. I'd log into your account at PP and tell them you don't deserve to have it anymore.
Paypal is offering you their services as a part of their business activity and so they would obviously charge you fees to cover their expenses and make profits. Earlier, they allowed personal accounts to have no fees transactions, but ever since people started using this account for their commercial purposes, they got greedy and plugged this loophole! Regards, RightMan
Before 06 June, 09 - If you use a personal account, paypal only charge fee with credit card payment. Maximum credit card payment per year is 5. - If you use a premier account, you will be charge fee no matter what credit card or balance payment. After 06 June, 09 - Both personal and premier account will be charged fee for every transaction unless buyer sends money as a Personal transaction I've been using both Personal and Premier account for years. Now they are just one due to the new paypal policies
My understanding of the new fee structure is that the only time there is no fee is when ALL of the following are true: - the transaction is marked personal - the funds were either transferred from a Paypal balance or bank account (not credit or debit card) OR the sender chose to pay the fee himself - the person sending the funds is in the same country as you are So just marking the transaction personal isn't necessarily enough to get around the fees.
No, that's not "Paypal"... That's ever credit card merchant and bank on the planet. This is nothing new.
We don't need #3. #1 and #2 is enough Regarding to #2, I don't know any option that let buyers pay the fee themselves
LOL It is not the point. It is the true for all payment systems. We are discussing: Paypal charge fee on sellers! (I don't like it lolz)
Under the new PayPal fee structure, someone sending money as a personal transaction (NOT a business transaction) who is using a credit card can choose to pay the fees himself. It doesn't affect "buyers" because that would be a business transaction, and for that the seller always is charged the fee by PayPal. And note that PayPal is likely to be monitoring transactions and could very well put a hold on your account if it looks like you are trying to get around the fees by labeling business transactions as personal.
Ah, no shit.. The "seller", eg. the "MERCHANT" is the one that pays... Its always been that way!!! Now some merchants will pass these costs onto their customers, yes, but in the end its the MERCHANT that pays, not the person making the purchase...
can you point where Mia? Cause only this two transactions this month was I charged for receiving instant payment type and i am on personal account.. I know they only charge credit card payment on a personal account not funded by paypal. I emailed them twice already regarding this and havent gotten any response yet. If their going to start charging on personal account might as well transfer to premium one. Here is their Fee Policy as of june 2009 https://www.paypal.com/ph/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/gen/ua/policy_fees-outside so there is no reason to keep personal accounts now? unless you have a relative or family member or friend that sends you money. p.s. paypal sucks!!!!!
