Hi there. I come here for your advice. Last year sometime I sold an item to another individual for $70.17. He claimed he never got it and I know he did (it was a virtual item for a video game). He filed a charge back suit and won so my PayPal account was in negatives. I ignored PayPal for several months and then they sent a collection agency after me. I found a nice letter telling them they do not have authority to collect the debt and ever since then I have not heard from them (about 3-4 months ago). After my first PayPal got negatives I created another account with a different email and bank account. Yesterday I received an email saying they found another account (the one in negatives) and suspended mine until I payed it. Luckily I transferred all my PayPal money to my bank right before this happened. It says My bank account is attached to the PayPal that just got locked, and I want to know if they are or are even allowed to take money out of my BANK account in 14 days. If they do, I am going to close my bank account.
I don't think so that paypal allowed to take money out of your bank account without your permission. DON.
Of course they can. Don't parrot another person's view if you're not sure (I'm referring to post #3). It's implied in the TOS. They can even freeze your bank account if they want to once you link your PP account with your bank account. If you check PayPal's TOS, a negative balance is against their policy, and now that they've detected that you're the same person from before, they can counter the balance from your account, since at the end of the day, both accounts are yours, doesn't matter if the bank accounts linked are different. PayPal sucks, but that's the way they function. Edit: Sorry, it's actually mentioned in the User Agreement, not TOS.
I am not aware of the capability of Paypal to debit bank accounts in other countries but I am sure they can not do so in an Indian bank. Indian central bank bars Paypal from carrying any debits in any Indian bank... with or without account holder's permission! Regards, RightMan
Right according to Reserve Bank of India no one can operate an another person account without the permission of the account holder it must be duly signed by the account holder!
