    Hey everyone.

I'm wondering how Paypal can prevent credit card fraud. A customer had requested a special order and is willing to pay via CC. Now like alot of online business owner we worried that it might be a CC fraud. We process all our payment through Paypal so if it is fraud will we be protected? Of course with all the shipping prove and etc etc.

    thanks

If it is fraud, the card holder would most likely ask for a chargeback at his bank and the bank would be the judge and jury.

With paypal, an account holder can only add a credit card with his own name, at least the same last name, that should provide a level of security. Make sure that you only ship to the credit card address and not any other.

Remember there may be a chargeback cost as well which can be US$25 or more.

So outa then shipping it to the confirmed address and or the CC holder address, is there anything else we can do to protect ourselves? Or at least if anything happens we will have evidence and proof that we followed the right procedure?

What is important is to use a courier service like DHL or Fedex which gives you online tracking and would obtain the signature of the recipient, this will provide proof of delivery. Also at the same time, use the Paypal generated shipping documents.

When accepting the order, use the Paypal's Invoicing System so you can fully describe the product which you are shipping. Using Paypal's documentation would satisfy them somewhat.

If possible, call the phone number of the account holder to confirm the mailing address and that he placed the order.

Thank you so much for the suggestions!

The customer requested to use Fedex. I guess we will play around with the invoice system via Paypal and make sure that we list everything included shipping cost. Just so that we are clear.

no dont do it through paypal beacuse if its a fraud then you will lost the money and lost a big amount of fees that paypal will take from you for the chargeback. believe me, i have face a big scam few weeks ago and so i warn everyone how i lost $20.37 USD for each chargeback and the money was taken from my pocket. I have far more better solution this time to avoid scammers scamming me.
