But the problem now is that the I gave initial as my last name in my bank account but the complete name as my last name in my paypal cheque
Now what shall I do with the cheque.
Its a money of $2500 at stake.

So your bank don't want to cash your check, in that case call paypal.

What I was saying is that his initials have been wrong so Bank would not be able to cash it..

Call Paypal and get the cheque canceled. It might be possible that they will give you the money back into your account and then you might be able to get it as a direct deposit to your Bank..

But minor differences in the name shouldnt be a problem. If its a local check, just talk to your bank they will be able to help you.

Then you need to request paypal to cancel your present check so they give you refund for the same after deducting $15 (cancellation charge).

Since you already got the check, bring it down to your bank and bring your ID with your full name and explain the situation and see if they accept your check. If they do then great. Otherwise then get the cheque cancelled.

Just get it canceled and send Paypal a copy of your id so they can see that you're not just messing around with them and that its an honest mistake :)

The only reason you'd be getting a check from Paypal is because your account is limited right :S?

    Hi all
    Thanks for all the replies.
    Lemme clarify few things
    1)My account is not limited
2)The second thing actually that my name is latheef s and when paypal asked for last name, I gave it as sidley.
So now in the check it is written as latheef sidley. I open accounts in three banks so far and no banks are allowing me to have latheef sidley as my name
3)If cancelling the check is only way could anybody please explain me how to do it.

Send them email through your paypal account (contact us option through your paypal account) and let them know your transaction id for check withdrawal and request them to cancel that check.

Does your government issued ID have your name as Latheef Sidley or Latheef S ? I am sure that your banks would have made copies of your IDs when you opened the bank accounts with them, if so, it would be easy for them to identify that is you.

Why not just bring the check down to the bank and talk to the officers over the counter about it , rather than just going about cancelling the check.

eddy i assume that he already tried everything whatever is possible with his bank to cash that check thats why he is asking the procedure for cancellation of check.

Well, I did not make that assumption since he did not mentioned going down to the bank. I thought he saw the cheque and found that it was his full name and wanted to cancel it.

Yes I would also suggest asking the bank. My bank allows minor differences in the name as long its a local check.
