Paypal charges sellers....

Paypal charges sellers. I know this but it was charging me anything before.

I received exactly same amount of money as I was sent but now they are deducting money from the payment ie 2.9%+30 cents.

I asked the buyer and he said he didn't use credit card to send the money. He used his paypal balance.

Why are they charging me now when they weren't charging me before??

Could be a glitch, have you tried contacting paypal itself?

Also, could it be the buyer either didn't want to tell you or forgot that he used cc?

    Damn!
I guess PayPal thinks they can do whatever they like since they are used by so many.

They have changed their fee structure and instead of classifying them according to the type of account, they have introduced a new mechanism to classify the transaction itself as personal, to be not able to incur any fees.

From now on, only inter family and inter friends transaction to be treated as personal (no fees) and all other transactions will be considered as business deals, which will incur fees. :(

If you try to put too many payments down as personal payments, they just add their fees to them anyway. And we aren't talking many, either.

Asking your buyer to pay you through personal transaction even though it is commercial, would result in a punitive action from paypal and as per the rules, they would even cancel the personal transaction facility for your account, for all future deals! :(

Hence, asking for too many personal transactions would do you more harm, than good!
