Paypal Chargeback Issue! Please Help

    Hello!

I have a guy for whom I wrote articles couple of months back. He paid me what he committed and the cycle is completed.

He again asked me to write some more articles, but since my hands were full and the pay was not so good, I initially politely rejected and then when he kept on communciating, I had no choice but to ignore him.

Now, he has written to me a weird Email today.. as "who are you?" seems someone has paid lots of money using my paypal, I need to charge back"

The last payment sent by him was on April. I never had any issues with such things and have always worked hard to earn my money. Just wanted to know what are the steps I should take in case of such an request for chargeback by that guy to paypal. I hope he does not dent my excellent reputation with Paypal.

    Please advise.

    Thanks

    Regards

    Jeet

He's got 60 days to make a dispute with paypal. If he funded with a credit card, he possibly has longer with his issuer (180 days max), but they usually limit it to less than that as well. If it's been more than 60 days you're probably in the clear.

Well, you can win the dispute, if he have already requested for a chargeback. Let paypal know that you have sold him (your client) a digital product, and it has already been sent to your client.

And it has already been 60 days, if it was an unauthorized payment, then he should've asked for a chargeback way before... Why is he acting now?? So PayPal will favor you.

Almost always the buyer wins the chargeback because in the PayPal rules is says that if it's anot a physical product, then you forfeit the PayPal seller protection. It sucks, but that's the policy.

Same Condition here. I have been chargebacked by one person to whom I sold one digital product, I would take all your suggestions and then let's see what happens.

yes maximum chance the scammer will win disputes because it's hard for u to give proof of what digital products, articles etc u sold to him.

Kept all the proof when he was order all the document and you send the report to him talk to paypal and show them all the details. Before doing that first talk to the person might be he forget that he was paid u for the artical writting.

The above posts are correct, unfortunately. PayPal does not cover digitally delivered products, and will return the money to the buyer 100% of the time. I have found a GREAT way around this if you required a shipping address, and the one they provided was confirmed. All you have to do is send them something (eg. an invoice), via USPS with delivery confirmation. After that was delivered to them, just submit the tracking information to PayPal to prove that you did ship the item to their confirmed shipping address. Since the package will be shipped to the confirmed PayPal address, that will prove that they did pay for it to be shipped to their address, not someone else using their account to ship it somewhere else.

Note: The last time I checked, your package has to be at least 3/4" thick at its thickest point in order to use delivery confirmation. Also, purchase the shipping at the Post Office...they will scan the delivery confirmation number after you pay which will show that you have already shipped it. If you purchase a shipping label online, it just shows that the electronic shipping info has been received.....until it's actually delivered to its location.

Good luck with your dispute. I hope this information will help some other people as well. :)

    Hi !

Not really! He just wrote me an email wanting to make me write an article, which I choose to ignore. So, in my opinion.. trying to play games to get me on hook so that I have only two choices, go back to him and work or accept the chargeback.

So far no action taken from him.. I have collected all available proofs. Though now i understand Paypal's policy from everyone who contributed to this post, I also believe, if you can convince, that will atleast make them think. In short, even if the money has to go, it wont go meekly..... Moroever, I have excellent reputation as of now with Paypal, so any sensible person over there should be able to make out who the real culprit is .....

Thanks all of you.. for your valuable advice.

    Regards

    Jeet
