Don't ever lie at your application unless you plan never to be able to collect the money or keep the account.

If you sign up as 'US' then you have to log in with a US IP, provide a US Bank account, have a US Mailing Address, Utility Bills, US Phone Number and everything US or else any sign that you are lying in your application would mean you most likely lose everything in your account.

If Paypal does not support your country in any ways then sign up with another provider than does support it.

Never ever lie when it comes to signing up for anything especially when it comes to money. If you lie, how can people ever trust you enough to pay you.

    Great answer Eddy, well put!

I have a question in a similar vein ... As you know with paypal, when someone pays you they have access to your personal name and address. Is there a way you can sign up for an account that shows a business name?

    Thanks

Well, basically you can do that, but if you want to do business with that account then you will have some very confusing tax issues.

bkarnot, sign up for a business account.

Cheating PayPal can be dangerous and you can lose all your money in that account. Using false/fake information to create other country's PayPal account will finally get your account banned and you will get nothing. Switch to some other payment processor or ask some friend/relative to accept PayPal payments on your behalf.

Actually the Seller's address is not displayed just only the country, just the name and email address. The Buyer's address may be shown depending on what is being sold, if it is a physical product, the address is vital in order for the seller to be able to send the item.

In any case, if you set up a Business Account, you can set it to show your business name. However, you should have a registered Business in order to do that because all withdrawals would need to be made in your business name. So basically, it means that you need a bank account in your business name.

Well, actually in the end, even if you use a personal account, any profits made from any sales should be declared in your income tax. Whether you are exempted from tax or you do not need to pay would depend on the Income Tax Department of your country. Actually if you have a business than chances are you have an accountant so you would have him or her settle the nitty gitty of the tax issue. However, if you are a personal individual, chances are you might have to settle that yourself and if you are not familiar, it can get more confusing.
