We will be having an online store soon, and it will have Paypal as the papyemnt processing option. We all are aware abt the dangerous chargeback risk that the seller has, ever time he accepts a PP payment. I went thru the PP chergeback FAQs. It reads : ---------- What information can a seller provide to increase the chances of winning a chargeback dispute? The following types of information can increase the chances of a chargeback dispute being ruled in favor of the seller: * Proof of delivery, such as online tracking numbers. * Copies of the original item description or auction description, including any photos. * Proof that the buyer was already refunded. * Proof that the buyer was provided with a replacement product. * Correspondence with the buyer or feedback from the buyer. * Any agreements signed or accepted by the buyer at time of purchase. * Any return policy that was communicated to the buyer. So, i wanted to know what kinda mutual legal agreement we can have here ? I am sure there r quite a few sellers here, n their feedback wil be very much apprecated. Thanks
If you can have your customer sign a transaction receipt it would be solid proof that the transaction was legit. Unfortunately you would probably need a photo copy of their picture ID along with their signature for it to be valid. Depending on the product / service that you sell, you may not ever have a problem with customer chargebacks.
I use a purchase agreement on one of the digital products I sell, here is a link to it:http://hoover-usa.com/purchaseagreement.php This is good and bad. Good because you have an agreement with the buyer, but bad because some people won't buy a product if they have to agree not to ask for a refund. I'm not sure whether your product is tangible or not. If I was shipping something to someone I would ship it fedex or ups since they track everything. I get a few requests for refunds and I usually just refund the customer, keep everything simple and everyone happy. I think you will always have a couple of scammers who try to get something for nothing, it's just part of the business. Good luck with your store!
