I bought something yesterday with my PayPal and it's a tangible good. The seller didn't ship it yesterday and so I called the seller today and he told me that the money I sent him is ON HOLD by PayPal. And he asked me to send him some ID Proof as PayPal is asking for that. I haven't heard anythig like this before that PayPal is asking the seller to send them buyer's ID. I've already mailed my ID proof to the seller. Do you think the seller is lying ? PayPal might ask for invoices and supplier info and shipping details from the seller but Buyer's ID Proof :-p ? May be it's for his satisfaction but what's the point in lying ? So is the Seller telling the truth ? Have you guys (buyers and sellers) ever faced such problems ?
well , i do agree with this situation where paypal held the fund which you sent to seller,s being a seller , i can understand , PayPal reviewing all Payment to check fraudulent activity to prevent future charge back and dispute. now paypal is asking buyer(S) confirmation for digital goods . as digital goods selling buying policy is vary to vary on each individual country
Funds Will Be Credited Once you give him a Feedback!! Its Ebays Policy to Reduce Fraudlant Pay!! This doesnt happen if the seller is Well Reputed! ~ExP~
if paypal want id proof of buyer , they contact buyer directly. they never send email to seller to get buyer id. beware may b ur identity can b misused
Well, I didn't buy any digital product, it's a mobile phone. And I called them in the afternoon and they said that my deal is authorized and they're going to ship it out today. My friend bought a DSLR and my brother bought a Handycam from them and they're never asked to send any ID proofs. They all paid with PayPal. I think the seller might be doing this to check if the transaction is legal. Oh, another thing that the seller told me when I called him th first time. He told me that if I provide the ID proof, then Paypal will lift the hold off the money in less than 30 mins. That's what gave him away. This is impossible that PayPal will hold funds of the seller and ask for buyer's proof, and they won't notify the buyer about it.
ya this happen to me 1 time , they asked me for 9 transactions , what it was for and all shit also the payers needed to confirm it lol
