I’ve been robbed for $8000. There was this person, who asked me to install teamviewer. He wanted to show me a presentation. I was so stupid to take his word for it, and installed it. He secretly installed keylogger, and gained access to every account of mine, on the internet, be it my MSN, PayPal or name.com account. He requested $1000 from every buyer of mine (through PayPal), asking that I (he) needed money badly. But luckily I came on just after few hours (I was asleep). I noticed all the payment request e-mails n my mailbox, and I directly opened my PayPal account to find out that it was limited, and the PayPal funds I had in it was nowhere to be seen! I had $5000 in my PayPal. It was sent to someone else e-mail, but thankfully PayPal knew that my account was accessed by third party, and put a hold on the transaction. Hopefully I’ll get the money back. My PayPal account is limited now. It’s asking me to upload bank statement, but for this to happen I’ll have to wait till Monday! Anyhow, he also had access to my MSN account and my name.com account, he hacked the name.com (changed password and e-mail), and started selling my domain wpjunction.com to a friend of mine, on my contact list for $3000. He sold the domain and transferred it. The buyer didn’t know that it was me, he thought I’m the one selling the domain, since it was my msn account and my domain too. Now I have to buy the domain back from him. He paid that hacker using his CC Visa card by Western Union, he lives in Canada, whereas the hacker lives somewhere in the US (I have his information with address). I asked him to chargeback the money. He said he can only try it after 3 days. I wanted to know what chances are that he can get his money back and I get my domain back, without having to pay for it? I removed the key logger and I changed all the passwords for all my accounts… Any help would be appreciated!
Regarding your Paypal account - don't worry. All your cash WILL be safe. Believe it or not, Paypal do take account theft/hacking very seriously, and they will have limited all transactions that relate to your hacked account. Hence, no one will be able to withdraw, forward or use the funds that have been sent to them. So on that subject, don't worry, you're cash will be returned to you. As for the domain issue, are you on good terms with the guy who bought the domain? If so, and he;s willing to return it - hope that he paid with a bank issued credit card. If so, he can simply go into his bank, and file a chargeback. He will then get the total amount back, and be where he started off. So, I say things don't look as bad as they first seem. Good luck!
Dont worry your funds is safe....in future be careful and never accept any files from user,,just download direct from there official sites Thanks
I guess actions like these can only be avoided with spontaneous reactions. My Empathy with you, but we all should take a lesson from here hich leaves us in yet another dilemma.. can u trust anyone at all?
chargeback.. thats the best you can do.. call name.com and prove your identity.. launch a legal complain with them and they'll return your account access in few days.. thats the best i think you got bro.. if you succeed kicking that hacker's buTT... do let us all know..
Sorry for your troubles - but a good lesson for others. As stated here, a quick call to the credit card company disputing the charge - the credit card company will have you fill out a form and send it in along with an explaination. They will then credit your friends account back for the disputed amount - then try to contact the other party for their explaination. If the other party does not have a legal explaination - the disputed amount will be fully credited (or a least not charged against the account). This way take a few billing cycles - but the credit card does want to help you and your friend - but you have to be patient. Work closely with paypal - not only to ensure you get your funds back - but also so that they can go after this guy - they have more resources than you and hopefully will get this guy off the street. Best of luck
