It depends on amount actually because if its small account then it remains Negative balance in your account and paypal sends you reminder about that frequently. But if its big amount then maybe they contact you through phone call as well to recover that. DON.
Well, if you not from US and there is very less amount negative (less than $1000), then there are very less chances that they would do anything. They will only keep sending reminders on how to make your PayPal positive. - Digital -
It will urge you to top-up the balance first for several times through emails, before it takes legal actions.
I think if the negative balance is above $1000 then they may sue you for sure. But if its less than that you only receive the reminders from their end. They may also warn you about the legal procedure if you fail to make your account positive.
Yeah..as many people said there wont be any problem . I have many -500$$ balance.. till now no problem . Just dont put ur legal address nd fone number.. den no problem if u wnt to show proof ask me .. dont worry ..
however, paypal will do freeze your account and you will not able to send and receive money until you reverse the $ to positive balance. if usa user, paypal even can takes $ from your bank account. -- their new rules. mention in T&C
Well, why only from USA bank accounts? They may also take the amount if your paypal account has negative balance. Why only USA users?/ I guess this rule should be for other countries users too. BTW can you just mentioned that URL where you have read this????
It is possible only for US citizens to attach and verify using a Debit card or bank account and so effectively, it also means they can charge your debit card/bank account with the amount equivalent to the negative balance. Your action to attach a debit card/bank account for verification appears to be vital for them, which I think makes them eligible to access the same for withdrawal...as well. I am not a US citizen and hence I am just guessing the procedure here! Regards, RightMan
