I think this was really necessay to teach a lesson to indians including me. Who were doing banners for 2-3 bucks and signups for 40 cents. Can anyone tell me if they give 40 cents per signup and pay via paypal what will you get? SO I think paypal is quite correct and it was good slap on the faces of indians.
Well paypal didnt remove personal payments option coz it was being over used but for the reason of remetance
It is blackhat Rbi that asked paypal to remove personal payment for Indians otherwise paypal was satisfied with 10cent it get from personal payments + the cheap exchange rate for $ to Rs conversion. Good old Indian babus are hurting us here also. Can't track the hawala transaction .... so want every other transaction to stop. Look at loss of foreign exchange.
has anybody seen the update from paypal side on Feb 17th. This is the latest i got from pp side. Looks like pp still hasnt got the license from RBI
I just joined DP after knowing about Paypal India outrage. I spoke to one of Paypal representatives and they didn't give any time frame regarding when personal payments and bank withdrawals will be reinstated. I have never used Paypal check withdrawal option, which I am thinking to use now. Is there anyone on DP who has successfully received the check after this Paypal problem? Paypal says check withdrawal is possible, but I am too skeptical to use it, especially because of the unreliable Indian postal service. Any input from those who have received check from Paypal in the month of Feb will be of great help for all Indians.
