I just registered on godaddy.com and add to my shopping cart a domain.
I choose paypal as payment method. But when I'm trying to pay them through paypal is requesting me to add a card ( although Number of cards active on my account is 1 ) Any idea what's wrong ?

I had the same issue and gave up. Just used my Paypal debit card instead.

I had the same issue also and i called the customer service and they told me it was just used as back up for identification purposes because it's going to be a pre-approved payment.

You will be granted $500 to your account for purchases, not free of course.

I really don't understand their logic though.

If you live in the states and your innitial funding method is your bank account then the purchase ammount will be withdrawn from your bank account altough you might think it's going to be withdrawn from your credit card.

This is not the case it's only for indentification purposes and is used as a back up for this purpose.

Some countries are not accepted as of yet for pre approved payments.

It took three attempts setting up PayPal for my GodDaddy payments but my persitance paid off and it was finally accepted --I don't know if that'll help you DandC but it's worth a shot. No problems since.

I used to register domain like this in Nov 2005.

Don't know what happened but I think the GoDaddy policy has changed. They only do business with verified users.

That's why. Right now I have a verified account and so no problems.

your probably better off paying with a straight credit card to ensure that when the domain automatically renews you have funds to cover it and dont lose your domain.

I always use the Paypal acount GoDaddy has in their record (the option below "Pay by Paypal"). It's faster and less troublesome.

Godaddy only accept verified paypal accounts. Transfer your domain name to name.com. They accept paypal unverified accounts.
