    I use 2Checkout, a friend uses CCNow.

2Checkout has been fine with me, I don't do much business. That said, out of a handful of orders (about $600 worth) I had one refunded because they recently started accepting PayPal as a payment method. There are a few other issues, like they keep tweaking and making changes and get things wrong at times (e.g. they are making changes to their payment pages flow at the moment and there's an 'update order' button for changing the quantity of items - it doesn't update the page, instead takes you to the next step).

So there are odd niggles there.

My friend (topetersburgwithlove.com) uses CCNow with no complaints. He used to use PayPal, then we tried to integrate it with his site (shopping cart). It all failed miserably (PayPal express wouldn't work) we found that other people had the same problem and set up CCNow.

Since then he has had no problems, the only gripe was when CCNow changed its routine for uploading product files and I had to rewrite a few lines of code to compensate. They did, however, release advance notification along with docs. 2Checkout doesn't notify anybody about anything in advance, AFAIK.

Since changing to PayPal sales have gone way up, though we can't be sure that it was the change of payment method as we changed the site template to CSS and did some SEO work on it at the same time.

I tried to use PayPal in the past but couldn't even get my account activated because I'm in Russia (boo). PayPal, it seems, closes accounts in the blink of an eye if you so much as sneeze at it from an IP it doesn't like.

2Checkout is way less paranoid and although I've found support to be slow, they do seem to listen and they have a public forum which they don't censor. CCNow doesn't seem to have any symptoms of paranoia.

2Checkout account costs $50 one off. The fees are probably a bit high (can't remember off the top of my head, but there's a transaction fee plus a bit over 5%). However I found it very easy to set up a pay-to-download site using their system.

    2Co example: public.interlingua.co.uk
    CCNow example: topetersburgwithlove.com

Oh and by the way - hi all :)
