    Which payment processor would be the best alternative to PayPal and why?

    we just switched our checkout cart to Google Checkout from Paypal, however we will still accept paypal but only through a special checkout page. we are also looking very closely at Dwolla as an additional option.

    why is complicated, but suffice to say that paypal has proven to us that they are not the company they once were and subsequently the trust is gone. there is an article on the web; "paypal, google checkout or bank terminal' i suggest you read it very closely.

    A Follow up comment;

    We have decided to add Dwolla, unfortunately it can't be integrated into our cart easily yet. So we will have a separate checkout page until we can integrate it. Here is why for all those that want to consider it;

    Dwolla has a partner "Veridian Credit Union" and I believe they actually hold the funds in segregated accounts, unlike Paypal and others. Veridian allows USA residents to open a savings account with minimal funds and charges no fees for that account if there is activity.

    Dwolla does not charge any fees to the buyer or seller (sender / recipient) until the transaction crosses the $10 threshold. When it crosses this threshold the fees are 25 cents ($0.25). no other fees, so this amount is less than the fees from Paypal for base ticket charge.

    I started using Moneybookers a few days ago. I sold a site here for $500 yesterday and the buyer used Moneybookers escrow to pay me. The payment is still pending, but so far so good.

    moneybooker is great but i dont know how many people will really use anything other then paypal.
    there are so many paypal users out there but its always good to have options in case someone doesn't have a paypal account.
    Dwolla is not a bad choice either, i hope you can figure out how to integrate it. GL :)
