I am thinking of starting a new service here in DP (because someone asked for that service). The problem is I am from the Philippines and paypal is not accepted here. I was able to accept paypal payments early on my other service since a friend of mine, who is living in the US, accepts them for me and just forward the money. He will be gone for up to 2 months (vacation) and I have no alternative way of receiving money online.. Can anyone suggest alternatives where people will still be willing to pay? I mean most people are put off by other payment methods and don't trust people who uses them (such as egold, epasaporte, stormpay and the like)..
Xoom.com works for The Philippines and allow people to pay you via Paypal too. I understand that a number of Filipinos are using it. Moneybookers.com is also another alternative which you can use. E-Gold is too complicating because money is not traded directly so you need to change from cash to e-gold to pay someone then to collect the money you need to convert e-gold back to cash. Stormpay doesn't work if you do not sell through their Auction. ePassporte is nice but the limitation is that you need an epassporte account to send or receive money and you need to find a way to verify the account ie via a credit card. 2Checkout may be an option to consider.
hehehe thanks again eddy, this was actually the same question I asked yesterday, but more specific.. anyway, how does xoom work. I can't really understand it? does the people who will pay me have to register too?
Here's to your question as to how Xoom works https://www.xoom.com/static/help-overview.html Yes, people who wants to pay you will need to register with Xoom but that is a painless thing.
hehe I've read it and was supposed to delete my last post but you beat me to it. I have a question for you eddy. will pm you.
