I had this problem before (however i'm not from India) but the only solution to it is go to your bank and ask for a credit card.
There is almost no other solution unless you can add a bank account directly to Paypal

I had clients from India in the past who said that paypal is a pain in their country so i guess you are doomed if you don't have a CC
Even to withdraw money from paypal to your bank acocunt in India takes several months i heard :(

    Best of luck

Even if they don't give you a real credit card, a prepaid credit card should be available??

My real problem is am unable to purchase anything online or trade with some other person on forum.
mainly two factors troubles me a lot
1>if you purchase somthing a site/advertising some other person he looks for immediate payment (like paypal) where i fails.
2> if i want to accept payments through paypal. while paying buyer looks thatUnverified and looses confidence on my site. due to which two of my directories having PR4 - 5 are slowly getting down.
the solution i heard is there are some internationally accepted (i.e. in foreign currency too )debit cards will be provided by some bank in india. if any one of you tried them , please PM me which bank it is and how good to use it?

even if you were using a CC , please let me know which bank CC is working fine and safely with paypal.

    regards

Don't look for a debit card, get a local credit card (VISA or MASTERCARD) and that should solve your problem.

yes some debit cards are accepted.... but not indian. Indian banks debit cards cannot be used to verify paypal.

You can continue making money and getting them through checks. And meanwhile try to get a credit card..

I was too doing same thing .. like storing money here and there in friends account and all and doing business. Afetr 6 months got a credit card... and now i have a nice account with all money accumulated at once.

Try verifying it with your debit card, it may work!:) Otherwise, I suggest getting a prepaid card like gCard to verify your account.

Not true, I've verified a paypal account with an Indian HSBC debit card.

I don't know if it will help you now.. but you might try www.neteller.com another online e-wallet, they don't require a cc, but they do require a confirmed bank accout, and i've also heard that what they require varries per country... HOWEVER, you can't send money from PayPal to Neteller, so It might be that it's just plain to late for the neteller info to help ya anyway :( ..

I have a perfect solution for you to make online purchases using a debit card but still it will not allow you to get verified at paypal.

Get a HDFC bank account, savings should be ok. Go for InternationalDebit card instead of the ATM card. They have a free feature called NetSafe on thier website which allows you to create a virtual pre-paid credit card for each transaction. You can use this card for online international purchases and also use it through paypal. But as far as the verification in paypal is concerned, you do not get the expanded use number in the statement:confused:
