Hello. My paypal account got locked for 180 days. I got this on login:
Aug. 3, 2009: Our system detected an unusual use of funds from a bank account linked to your PayPal account.

They sent me an email saying my account will get unlocked in 180 days. I have $1,145 on it and cant get it out. Does anyone know how I can get my money or unlock my account? I am willing to pay $50 to anyone.

Under very few circumstances are accounts unlocked. You will be happy to know that PayPal will make the interest off your money for the 180 days. :)

I think the best way is to call them like the person above me stated.
I'm not sure if it's possible to get those money back but if you call them they will probably help you out.

Did you do something that doesn't comply with their TOS?

Unfortunately, there is not much you can do...Paypal's terms which you agreed to allows them to hold your funds. You'll need to wait the 180 days...

How could anyone know how to unlock an account? the only one that can do the unlocking is Paypal. You can call them but it seems you don't want to because you know the answer already.

SO it appears you know what you did or at least why they locked it.

there is no valid lockpicking artist to unlock paypal. ;). Since paypal has made their point clear, you really have to wait for 180 days or try calling them if you really had a reason to call them.

Yup, it would be wise choice to call them up. Or else wait for 180 days

Paypal have their own set of protocols and if you don't get fit in them your account may get blocked and you can do nothing. But if it was really some genuine mistake and not done intentionally then you may try reducing the blocking period get reduced to 90 days. The all you have to do is contacting the Paypal higher auhorities with proof that it was genuine mistake and nothing intentional. Remember that the reduction of blocking period is not a part of their rules but just a mercy based on the decision of higher authorities. I am sharing this info based on the personal experience of my friend where his account has been blocked because he has received much more amount than permiten on his individual account without any details about the transaction cause mentioned while receiving the money from the client.
