PayPal account limited... Underage

I have recently signed up for PayPal (age 16); to start selling things on eBay (7 things, 7 positive feedback).

Now my account has been limited and I need to send off my passport.

If I can scan my passport into my computer, then just edit the D.O.B would this be ok?, or do they check?

    Thanks

So they won't actually check the passport number etc to make sure it all adds up.

Of course... they do go through the documents manually but I doubt if they would able to verify the authenticity of DOB with any source!

It is a bit risky to forge your personal details... but then, I guess you are left with no choice! :(

Well you are not left with no choice apart from forging your D.O.B, try it and see if it works for you.
If it didn't worked or you did not provide them with any proof, in both the cases your account will be lost. So its better now then never.

    Best Of Luck

I am under the age of 18 (im 17 now) I have had paypal for 2 years and have made over 800+ transactions in the past 2 years anywhere from $2.00 - $400. I have talked to paypal on the phone many times I just put a fake DOB.

but also I had a verified account:
    Added Debit Card
    Added Bank account
    Verified Home Phone Landline
    Verified Address

My account was limited a few times for different reasons that were usually my fault like sending a mass ammount of payments under $0.10 and for sending a large payment to someone while using someone elses computer.

froogle - if u had to provide photo id with your picture and address (passport or drivers license), what would you do, as won't they check your age?

    Thanks

You're committing forgery and several types of fraud if you do this. Get a parent to open up an account for you. Paypal may not find out, but if they do you can be guaranteed at the very least that you will never accept paypal again. They can also file a police report against you.

Well I regularly move my funds into the bank account and if my account ever gets liek stuck to the point where they wont undue it I will change my bank account and report my credit cards stolen so that no charges can be made because who knows what paypal puts in their TOS anymore

You're going to struggle to do it with a passport too - they're kind of designed to resist that kind of thing. If you've got a current issue passport then you're going to end up with a shiny Robin across the details which will make editing a pain (what is up with the birds btw?) and even if its older/non-UK it's going to have some kind of hologram to reflect light away from the scanner!

Mate scan your passport and edit it with Photoshop. Zoom it 400% and edit just one digit e.x 1992-->1990 they wont realize . I had the same situation 2 years ago and it worked fine. Now I'm 19 years. As my country is changing passport type from normal to Biometric they won't catch me never. Now I have a new passport issued 1 month ago.

Sorry but my intention was not to steal his personal/financial information. I just gave him a suggestion. I am going to edit the post to avoid further misunderstands.

    Thanks

Sending engineered documents is risky. Wait for 180 days and then you can withdraw money. But your account will still be limited.
