I am facing problem from paypal.
I am an indian user and there is a new rule that indian users should transfer their money in paypal to their bank a/c within 7 days of receiving.
But I didn't transferred my $87.3 and they didn't given me any further warning for that, no problem.
But then I withdrawn $282 more to my paypal a/c and then my new balance becomes $369.3, then I requested my local bank transfer like before.
My money converted to rupees(INR) at exchange rates but in just 1 hour the transaction was reversed and the money automatically again converted to USD at exchange rates and become 345.81 and I lost my $23.49 in this reverse conversion which was not requested by me. Now they tell me to verify my a/c by credit card.
I will verify it But whose mistake is this bcoz I lost my $23.49 without prompting. They didn't prompted me before making withdrawn(to bank) request that you should verify by your credit card.
    What should I do now?

Sorry to hear that. No solution. Go sign up for a new account or use other payment systems.

Thanks this helps a lot !!

My account has been frozen , it seems partially .

It so happened that I am on a business trip and received a payment in my paypal . I used opera mini browser from my blackberry to login to my paypal for just 5 mins to issue a withdraw of the received funds and got a mail from them just 20 mins later that my account has been limited ! They even subtracted the bank transfer charges and now money is locked there until I verify whatever they are asking !!!

After some investigation I noticed that a friend of mine had the same issue after logging in via mobile (specifically opera mini) . It so happens that opera uses proxy servers in Norway and hence the IP of the accessing device keeps changing constantly , making it look like hacking activity on your paypal account and hence the limitation .....

Just wanted to give a heads up to all others who might face a similar situation ....

Many of us are in the same dilemma since nothing happens to our funds even after 7 days and I am very certain that PP is not obeying RBI laws !!

The best bet would be to use a CC , verify your account , withdraw whatever amount is remaining and rejoice !!!! Forget the rest ! And never trust PP with big payments , just keep withdrawing as and when you receive cash in PP. Trusting PP with your money is like asking a thief to safeguard your cash !!!

On top of that they deduce bank transaction charges while withdrawing , then again when the money comes back due to some error also give a very low conversion rate at just 43RS/1$ and this way they keep sucking onto our money constantly !! So if you deliver a service for which you receive 200$ , you will ultimately landup with around 170$ if you use PP with their freak rules and TOS

    That was a super information.

I have no idea about the second kind of limitation. I have encountered only the simple limitation. I was then unable to withdraw my funds as someone attempted to steal my funds. For security measures, Paypal required me to submit documents that proves I am the owner of the account. After a week or so, it has been resolved and was able to lift my account and was refunded.

thank you so much for this information,
but they are doing business in india so, is there some way to get that money back OR will RBI do something in such matters of sucking money without prompting/warning the user

Thanx for the really handy letter.

PayPal hasn't limited my account (yet - I say yet because it's almost to be expected of them with all the horror stories) but it's sure is handy being prepared and it's it's great to hear when one of us wins instead of them.

Everyone should have a backup either way...because PayPal cannot be trusted.

No,you cant send money to other Paypal account after 180 days. You can olny withdraw your funds which were blocked to your bank account for 180 days. Its better to open a new Paypal accoutn and start using it
