Excuse me as I've mentioned this a few times before, but I still don't know the answer. If someone sends $0.01 to my PayPal (leaving no room for fees), what will happen?
Well, if it is a personal account then it is not an issue, you don't pay any fees. But if it is a Business or Premier account, you be probably charged a fee for it which means you probably be losing money in terms of fees when that happens. You can always refund the payment within 60 days and you do not need to pay the fees. Even if you qualify for micropayments, ie payments under $2 , it reads https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webs...rior_transaction_id=256450&answer_id=16777216
nothing happen, the paypal just keep the 0.01 cents if you have business account. you won't be charged for $0.35 cents. if you got person account. you keep the 0.01.
I mean 0.30 per tranaction fee, not $0.35 cents. any tranaction under 0.30 paypal keep the money, they won't charge you addition from your account. for PayPal micropayments any transaction under 5 cents
I've been sending myself $0.01 payments to test a custom shopping cart. Paypal just keeps the penny. Burnt through a whole dollar doing this. lol
In the email confirmation of a payment it shows the total amount before fee's. In your account statements it shows Gross amount = $0.01, Fee's = -$0.01, Net Amount = $0.00 Paypal wont let you set a payment amount to $0 so i set it to $0.01 to do testing of my shopping cart. They do of course have a system where you can run your tests through some sort system were no real money is transfered. I could not be bothered to take the time to figure it out. Quicker and easier to just set payment level at a penny, and so what if it costs $1 to run 100 tests. Would cost me much more, in time, to learn a new system.
i sent a $0.01 payment to hostagtor after using a promo coupon from this forum , and i did not get charged a single cent, infact they didnt even take the $0.01 from my account
Thanks alot of the replies While we're telling $0.01 stories... I once sent $0.01 to my friend's PayPal using my credit card, not knowing that some unrelated company was going to make a mistake and charge me into the negative, so my bank charged me a $35 overdraft fee for that $0.01 transaction as well. PayPal refunded the $0.01 back into my bank account...
