    say i have two pages:

    1) page with one adsense text banner
    2) page that has two adsense text banners that are the same type as the one above (468x60).

will a click on the same ad (ad for example.com) result in the same payout to a publisher in both cases?

hope you see where i am going with this. if not, i can try to explain better

From my experience it will vary depending on how relevant the page is to the ad. Say a widget ad appears on a page that is reviewing widgets and on another page that mentions widgets in a story, the page that is reviewing widgets will pay more when someone clicks on a widget ad. But, with all else being equal, the payout should be the same as long as the ad appears in the same spot (ex: #1 spot on the top banner on both pages)

The way I understand things the same ad in the same position in the ad unit on the same page will pay the same per click. But, by using more than one ad unit, you are opening up more positions on your page, so the average price per click of all the ad units on the page will go down. (But hopefully the number of clicks will go up!)
