Payments to post articles on my article site

Hello

I'm getting a nice amount of live signups each day on my article site, and was wondering ways to monetize those as best as I can, right now I'm mainly using Adsense, but with limited traffic it's not working out too good for me.

I've been thinking about charging a small amount to signup as an author, maybe 5 dollars or so, but was wondering if it'll just scare away everybody instead.

That will definitely scare away everybody unless your directory has a high PR and has authority. You can try monetizing it by promoting some software from clickbank. Software that help article writing would appeal to your users.

 

Yea, if you make your subscription paid, i think, the traffic would decrease. Instead, try getting some affiliates on your site to make some money. This could help you.

Another way is, you can keep the free authors without a link or a link with no follow and paid members can get some facilities like number of links and do follow tag too. This way, the traffic would retain and you could make some money as well.

You can consider selling banner spaces to those writers who contribute to your site.

Obviously, your action will scare away everybody if you are planning to charge a small amount to signup as an author.
You can sell banner ads on your site, or try other ads platforms.
Besides, you can try a In-Content-Link-Market-Place named inLinks, which are static HTML advertisements located within content areas of websites. It is simply the most natural paid link on the market. Once you have installed their plugin on your site, then you can sell links within that content automatically.

You could limit the number of article submissions for free members, maybe 10 or so, then offer a paid upgrade option for extra submissions.

 

Yea, this is also a good idea. I have seen directories like this. I hope now you have so many ideas to monetize your directory as well as keep the traffic intact.

 

That could work if you had an extremely amount of visits/traffic on your blog

 

Unless you are getting huge amounts of traffic nobody is going to pay to submit articles, of course if you were getting huge amounts of traffic you would be making lots of money off of adsense and wouldn't need to charge for submission. The best bet is to try to get more articles so that you get more traffic and your adsense should go up. It really is just a numbers game, more articles, leads to more traffic, which leads to more adsense money.

 

With so many great article directories offering their services for free, you may have a hard time charging. However, you might charge for submission services. In other words, offer to submit their article to 10 other directories for a small fee.

 

I am sure you are making some money on your blogs using this strategy...I will be implementing this same thing later on my coming blogs.

 

I guess adsense is the best option for new sites/blogs.
