Payment Renewals for Yearly Listings. How do you do it?

    Hi,

For directory owners that charge yearly listings, how do you get your lister to pay for a renewal?

I did a test on mine and when time expired, the listing went into "inactive" statis. That would mean I would have to email everybody and ask to see if they want to renew!

Is there a way (mod) to have an automatic email sent to notify them when listing is about to expire and they can pay here to renew?

How do you guys work that?

    Thanks!

I've got all mine on a spreadsheet, I'll email them 2 weeks before the listing expires to offer a further 12 months or lock into a subscription.

Hi, so when it expires, it automatically turns into inactive?

What about a cancellation? Would you have to turn it to inactive once the subscription term runs out?

there was a long thread on this b4, think there is no good automated way right now to track annual listings.

Then I think whoever creates this type of mod would be able to sell it to everyone since sending out hundreds of emails and tracking yourself does not seem like the best or smartest way to go.

For a big directory, this alone would then be a full time job.
Automatic email is the way to go. Just like domain name renewals, I get automatic emails every year if I want to renew it or not.

I would buy this (when I get a little bigger) if someone created it.

Create a subscription in your paypal account then when the click on the link it creates the subsciption to your year monthly or bi monthly as that is what I had to do for one site

I send a notification to the owner manually.
