Hello i need to get my online store up by the end of this month. But i have no idea about payment processors and merchant accounts. Could anyone point me in the direction of a reliable but also cheap one. But id rather have high transaction fees for quality support etc. When you have been using paypal for business transactions i dont think anyone can get any higher:).

    Any help is appreciated.

    You can check instabill.com
They offer worldwide services and all kinds of high risk and offshore merchant accounts.

Depends what you need it for - if you need a fully featured shopping cart you can use Zen Cart or OS Commerce. If you just need a payment provider Google Checkout is a good option.

I've just started a series of tutorials on my blog showing how to integrate Google Checkout in perl if you're interested.

If your business should look good and it is a must that your customers can pay for your products or services, then offer credit card payment through your own merchant account. Often you also safe some money if you have your own MA.

Authorize.net I suggest too. I heard some "bad" stories about Chronopay

If you can use Paypal, I recomend a business account. Several reasons... most of all they're great with fraud, have a lot of world wide familiarity, make withdrawals easy and with the eBay explosion - PAypal is a great processor for conversions. People trust paypal and in the end, that's priceless!
