Payment Method on my Website and Pay Pal

I have 2 questions in total but first I want to describe my website so you guys get a feel for my situation.

I have an ebook website where I sell ebooks for $1.75 each OR somebody can choose a 10 ebook for $5 option and pick any 10 out of my inventory. Payments are processed by Pay Pal.

    Now to my 2 questions:

    1) I have 500MB of ebooks and I am working hard to increase my inventory all the time. Should I keep going with my current rates for purchasing ebooks or should I just offer a one time membership fee and then password protect the download pages?

    2) Is there any better options than Pay Pal? Initially I wanted to sell the ebooks for $1 each but through Pay Pal I would be wasting my time with the 55 cent charge and then percentage of sales they take. This is why I am doing the 10 ebook for $5 offer.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

You need to be careful of what prices you are selling e-books for because most of them have minimum prices.
plus it diminishes the value of the product. Turning peoples work into dime store stuff. "just a friendly thought".
I would like to see your site.

Reducing your pricing might diminish the perceived value of the ebooks. There is value to the content access model but, depending on how you pull it off, it might come off as "cheapening" your different lines of ebooks.

If you're going to go the content access route, you might just want to just start giving out "free teaser" ebooks.

Maybe a better way to go (while maximizing revenues) is to produce separate sales pages and satellite sites around each specific ebook.

Payment options: the more options the better, try epassporte.com, moneybookers, or SMS-based billing.

SMS-based billing is great since a) there's no refunds and b) it's very quick and easy for the customer.

If you need any other help or information regarding my post, PM me.

    I wish you the best

Sure, SMS-based billing works like this. The user goes to a payment page and chooses sms-billing. They get an access page but have to call a number to get the access code. Their phone gets billed. The input the code and access the content.

If you need one set up, let me know. It's free to set it up.

TIP ! If you include paypal as your payment processor - use the affiliate / referral program for business and premier accounts and embedd the referral link into your payment proceessor. On occasion, i've seen this produce real business account or premier referrals - and you can get paid up to 1,000 per business account referred based on a percentage of cash uploaded to that business account!

Besides SMS there's toll free billing. There's other ways to bill besides Paypa/moneybookers, you know.
