As now I am planning to start web hosting company, I am struck with the payment gateway issue. I am unable to decide which one to use. All charge huge amount of fee. Can anyone suggest me a good payment gateway which has low transaction and setup fee? Or any other payment option I can enable for my clients?
if your target clients don't or can not have paypal account then you should look which payment method your clients can and might have. payza and moneybroker are great options as well, but are they good for your clients?
Well, if you're in the US/Canada, I'd consider options such as Stripe. I'd add PayPal even though I hate them but a lot of people use them. If you're not in the US/Canada, I'd also look into options such as Paymill, GoCardless and Google Checkout.
We recently signed up with EBS and their service is pretty good. Overall setup charges are also ok for startups. Could you please let me know where based out of currently and where would be your clients from?
Thanks for your suggestion. I have checked "Google Checkout", they do not charge for setup. They only charge at the time of transaction. https://checkout.google.com/seller/fees.html Code (markup): I wanted to know, is tax amount collected here itself? Or do I need to file a tax separately? They ask for "2.9% + $0.30" per transaction, I think 2.9% is the tax amount. Is it so? Can I get some advice for taxation?
It has nothing to do with tax. They charge you a flat $0.30 for every transaction, and then 2.9% of the bill's amount. If the hosting bill is $10, your fees for the transaction would be $0.59 ($0.30 + $0.29). You would make $9.41. That has absolutely nothing to do with tax.
Who, Google Checkout? I don't think they charge a setup fee. But let me see if I understand this...you are starting a "company" and you don't have the funds to pay for a decent payment gateway? Doesn't sound like much of a company.
I am starting with very few funds. It will be a small company and so the prices will be low. Unlike other payment gateways who charge for setup + monthly + each transaction fee, I thought google checkout is better as they only charge per transaction.
Google checkout is not availabe in other countures except US/CANADA, its the BEST option I think, second will be paypal, third would be autorize.net and 4th I say moneybookers (Skrill), there is few more good but I have hands on experience with all these are in terms of safety and ease, these are best options.
If you wish to target customers in the US or Canada, Stripe is a great option. I'd definitely consider PayPal, Moneybookers/Skrill, Google Checkout and GoCardless. I hope that helps.
They will not. However if your monthly revenue is more than $500+ then you might signup for review application process and see if their risk department approve your application.
