payment - check from 28/12/05

    I have Cheque from 28/12/05
    can i use it and get money or i need to ask for new Cheque ?
    how many days after Cheque date i can use it with no problem?

    If I'm not mistaken a cheque is valid for 6 months after the date of issue. I think it would be best to request a new cheque, at least it would be safer, especially if you are from a country outside the US and the cheque needs to be send abroad by your bank.

    if its from 28/12, cant you just use it. Its 25 now, so you still got three days i guess....

    Most of the ones I've seen actually say 180 days. I'm not gonna count from then till now either, but that's less than half a year... although the 28 day month does fall within when that check was written... you might have a chance :p

    As per my knowledge G sends CITIBANK chq, payable at par all branches in the country we live in, So there is no need to send the chq to the country of issue.. Plz correct me if iam wrong..

    This might vary from country to country. The bank I use actually lost one of my cheques after I deposited it. The explanation they gave was that they had to send the cheque to the issuing bank which in this case forced them to send it overseas for some reason.

    Did you loose the check and then find it or something, why wait so long to cash it?
