Paying someone to post on my Blog. A few Questions

    Hello!

I have a well-estabilished blog, but due to recent projects, I have pretty much stopped adding any content to it. It was a PR5, now it has become PR4.

I have thought about selling it for some good cash. But it's making me some money even without new posts and I believe it could be hugely successful with the right person behind it.

Enter paying someone to post on the blog:

1 - What is the criteria used to pay someone as an editor? A determined amount per article?

2 - How much would it cost me to have a full-time blogger who creates content and all around manages the site? I know this is widely variable. But I want to avoid over or underpaying someone.

3 - Do you have any good experiences with a paid editor?

    Thanks in advance!

1 - I'd say a fixed amount per article, yes.

2 - Just charge per article, nothing else he has to do really.

    3 - Yes, myself. I'm interested :D

1- I've usually seen a steady amount of 1 cent per word. That's pretty fair and it will be fine if your blog isn't specialized. What is the topic of your blog, just out of curiosity.

2- Most writers don't feel confinent to completely take over the site. If you really want to do this, you could just give them a percentage of your adsense.

3- I've written for blogs and websites before, and I have received pretty positive feedback. I might be interested too, depending on the topic. Most job offers in the content creation section get at least 10 responses.

Unless your editor is a person you trust on, it may require considerable time monitoring his/her work during the first stage after delegating editorial power, otherwise your PR5 could simply sink in no time.

Without knowing the subject matter or how much research the writer would need to do in preparation for each post, it's hard to give you an accurate quote as to how much I would charge. Most likely I would charge somewhere between 2 - 5 cents per word.

It also sounds like your best candidate would be someone that thad experience working on their own and as an editor and not just submitting articles.

Also, I would ask for how frequent you want entries made on your blog and what you mean by "managing" the site. Do you mean taking care of user comments and spam? Emailing people back?

If you can submit more details, I might be interested in applying for the job. I've got editor experience and quality of writing to back it up.

    1) As every one said a rate per article.
    2) i might add a little bit to their pay for doing some website work once in a blue moon but continue pay per article.
    3) im intrested in helping you!

but if you wanted to find someone eles to do it =(
you can find people like that at places like getafreelancer.com or some kind of freelance website.
I would suggest trying out a few bloggers before you feel comfertable with one.

what is the theme of your blog, what category!
i can provide you contents for your blog, but then you will have to give me the link of your blog. feel free to pm me!

there is no fixed rate, you can pay weekly, make a contract that a person have to post 5 posts a week, each of those posts have to be 2000+ charaters etc! $25 a week would be a nice fees, i guess!

but then it deponds on the quality of the articles also:)

As others have mentioned before, monitoring your writers is very important in the beginning.

I usually charge a certain amount per word, but that is solely up to you.

2 - How much would it cost me to have a full-time blogger who creates content and all around manages the site? I know this is widely variable. But I want to avoid over or underpaying someone.

It would, by my system of rates, be a little over $20 a day for 10 blogs with 200 words each. It is actually considered a bit low among some people, but then again, many will do it for less.

3 - Do you have any good experiences with a paid editor?

I am one :D. I have never otherwise paid someone to write content for me.

What is the topic of your blog? if your blog is a general blog or an entertainment blog that does not require any expertise, than the price will be lower.
However, if your blog is very specific and requires expertise, than be ready to shed some real money.
