Does anyone know how effective this method is? http://cgi.ebay.com/500-Text-Link-A...77408707QQcategoryZ117001QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I found it when looking for pagerank on ebay (it's not my auction!). He's got them from 500-4000 text links. I know it's not going to be amazing, but how effective could it be? Would it just be a scam? Thanks
Be very careful on how you move on this: http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/text-links-and-pagerank/ There is plenty of reading online on how Google views paid links.
That is THE worst idea I have heard of. I have seen it before and even sent a message via eBay and told him that the clients rank will go down when the text links are down and how will they know he was telling the truth. The guy just shrugged it off and said that it wasn't his problem. In my opinion, don't do it. You MIGHT have a good PageRank, for a few months, but when Google indexes those sites that SHOULD be linking to you (note that it says it will be ROTATED) and they don't find your link, your rank will go down. A safe bet would be to get a list of ALL the websites if you really want to go through with this.
You also don't know whether or not the other sites are all connected to each other. Google seems to penalize links from other sites that all link to each other and are not related (unrelated networked sites).
Hi All - joined today & 1st post is kind of on topic. I'm considering buying links from Link Adage and textlinkbrokers.com that are relevant to my site's content and are PR 6 or above. I was led to believe that the 2 suppliers mentioned above are reputable, but I'm a little concerned that I could get my site penalized for buying links. If I'm buying from a well known broker & only very relevant links surely this will be ok? The main objective is to raise our PR but also to generate traffic & enquiries. Thanks for your time.
