We have been doing link building and SEO for well over three years. Recently we have been getting people asking for link building services, and say that they will not pay more then $1.00 per link. Link building if done properly involves research, maintenance, and so much more. Charging $1.00 seems some what ridiculous. We have also noticed a trend of websites offering bulk links, which point at the same IP; which basically renders the link some what useless. Does anyone have any insight about link building companies? what is your approach when dealing with link building companies? What is your approach when dealing with bulk link request?
Point!! I prefer to charge genuine cost for my work regardless of what client is asking for. Bulk link request can be priced somewhat comprehensively.
I agree! a genuine cost as really more realistic. bulk link request IMO are some what suspect; unless the URL’s point to different IP’s... having an abundance of links pointing at the same IP, is just plain crazy.
Absolutely. Yes, and that's way more than $1. The cost may be way higher than some easily bought links from directories. And most of these links are worth more than bought links from directories (seo-wise). Esp. if you link build for clients in industries you don't know. It takes a lot of time just to get well acquainted with what they are selling, then what sites are relevant etc. Time = money. On the other side, some SEOs swap 100 zero quality links and want $2 per link.
this price is really less i think at this price no one would give you quality links, if someone gives then your links will be deleted after few days or months.
I am in India and have my own linkbuilding team in-house for my sites. Indeed one dollar for a good link is very less even here (labor cost here is far cheaper than US). Despite running the operation in-house and thattoo in bulk and being personally overseen by me (my sites are my bread and butter), the cost to me comes like $2 on average for a good link. If I offer this service to a client sure enough I will charge may be $4- $5 to make a profit unless I am ina mood of charity. So anyone who is charging $1 per link is probably either paying from their pocket or the definition of quality link is different to them than average definition of quality link (that is all link from relevant different IP, different domain, less number oflink per page, no link farm sites).
I charge US$275.00 up front and then US$100.00 per year. Customers get SEO + advice, hand built links directory with categories and nothing but high quality links AND search engine submissions to over 200 search engines. I think that's a pretty good deal. I know heaps of companies that charge $5K a year for the same!
Hmmmm...Is that sarcasm I detect? Does not matter. As long as I get new clients every month I am happy, which means my clients are happy as they are the ones spreading the word around about my services.
Are you crazy? Why would you do it so cheap? I just dont see how you can be getting high quality links and only charging that kinda money. How much time do you give for the first $275 and then how much time do you send on the site for the rest of the year? I charge more than double you and that is in the UK so the is £s not $s for the same service, except I dont submit to search engines as I dont think that is good practise, however I do directory submissions find link exchanges add a directory and do any other SEO work that will benifit the site, unless it is large alterations to the site in which case I just advise for the web designer to make the alterations.
This is very interesting. Let's do a price comparison... What are you charging/paying for one-way link building (cost per link). CPL in UK = ? CPL in USA = ? CPL in RSA = ? CPL in ??? = ?
I don't see the sense in overcharging. I want my clients to come back and also to tell others about what they received!
I would not class it as overcharging though for the amount of time I put in to promoting these sites I would say I am maybe still doing it to cheap. Other companies are still charging twice what I am. I charge £100 a week for the first 8 weeks and then £150 a month from there on. Considering that work has managed to get the sites in the top 10 on all search engines for most keywords so far and it has made massive changes in traffic I would say they still come out laughing. I have only got more work from recommendation so far, I have not try looking for the work it found me right from the start. My first job was just a mate said to his boss that he knows somebody who is good with websites and ranking in search engines so he gave me a 2 month trail at the £100 a month. As that site did so well he recommended me to another site owner where I got my next job, also the web design company of the first site was also very interested in the work I had done, so they contacted me and said they can start sending clients my way as they have a large demand for SEO work. I don't guarantee any positions in search engines but will guarantee that they will get the best I can do for them. So now I have been really busy all from recommendation.
Ever think of taking on a partner? I could sure use someone esle to push some work on to. I am way too busy with stuff at present. Maybe we could work together? You can email me if you are interested.
